Course Overview

Artificial intelligence now touches every function of modern business, from IT and sales to project management, marketing, finance, HR, and legal. The EU’s AI Act and GDPR require organisations to educate staff across departments about responsible AI use. 

This overarching course brings together the key insights from our AI literacy series,
providing a unified foundation for all teams. Rather than focusing on a single department, the sessions distil the shared principles that underpin compliant and trustworthy AI adoption. 

You will learn why transparency, data minimisation, and fairness are the cornerstones of both the AI Act and GDPR, and how to embed these values into everyday processes. 

We explore the common pitfalls across functions—such as uploading sensitive data to external AI tools, failing to conduct privacy impact assessments or risk analyses, and neglecting to inform individuals about how their data will be used. We then demonstrate how to implement best practices that apply universally: anonymizing or pseudonymizing personal data before processing, clearly communicating the purpose and scope of data use to customers, employees, or stakeholders, performing legitimate interest assessments where relevant, and vetting third-party AI providers. 

By drawing on examples from departments as diverse as sales, finance, and HR, the course demonstrates that while use cases differ, the compliance principles remain the same.
